I have been using Camtasia Studio (ca. $400) for years to show other staff I work with - how I do stuff, it records your screen and voice, so u can use it to make teaching videos.
Recently I had a need to do a short quick demo, so the person I needed to help could "see" what I was saying as my words were not getting accross.
I found a free open source windows live screen capture software, and on first attempt it was very easy and produced exactly what I wanted, and it is a very small dowload (>2mb) for those of you in places with less than hi speed internet..
